SDG to invest $250,000 in India

NEW DELHI: Norwalk, Connecticut-based SDG Corporation, a technology consultation provider, is set to ramp up its India business.



The company is planning to invest $250,000 in India in the next two - three months and increase its headcount here to over 450 from the current 150 by the end of next year.



The company currently employs 125-130 professionals at its Noida center and around 25 professionals at its Hyderabad center.



SDG offers services like strategic advisory services, e-business solution, enterprise solution and managed support services. The company is also looking at two emerging areas — quality assurance (QA) and enterprise testing and infrastructure and management practice.



The company plans to set up a QA center of excellence at Hyderabad. The Hyderabad center would also act as a backup and disaster recovery site for the company.



SDG Software India Pvt Ltd country manager Sriram Potti said, “We have earmarked and investment of $1,50,000 for expanding our Noida facility to 6,000 sq. ft. and $1,00,000 in our Hyderabad facility to add on another 5,000— 6,000 sq. ft. of space.”



He added, “SDG's India operations contribute about 20 per cent of the company's global revenues. The company plans to double its revenue by the end of 2006 and expects its India operations to contribute 50 per cent of the total by end of 2006.”
