Scope International expands to IT Highway

CHENNAI: Scope International, a wholly owned subsidiary of Standard Chartered Bank, today announced the addition of two more centres in Chennai.

Sharing the company’s plans in India, Sreeram Iyer, CEO of Scope International and CIO of Standard Chartered Bank, said that the company would not spread across five locations in the city comprising 800, 000 sq ft.

“The newer centres are in T Nagar, housing the UAE contact centre in four floors with a seating capacity for 400 and the TIDEL Park unit housing a portion of the nearly 1800 staff of the software development unit,” he said.

This would be in addition to the flagship centre at Haddows Road, Chennai with a production site measuring 500, 00 sq. ft. and the Disaster Recovery Centre (DRC) is in Padur, Chennai with a built-up space of 100, 000 sq. ft. with a seating capacity of 800.

Sreeram disclosed plans of another centre at the IT Highway on the outskirts of Chennai. “One more centre with a capacity for 1000 seats and a space of 110, 000 sq ft. will be operational in early 2007,” he added.

With the new centres in place, Scope’s headcount has now grown to more than 5000 people with an addition of 1200 this year alone, which is in excess of 200 as announced in May this year.
