Satyam posts Q4 loss

MUMBAI: Satyam Computer Services, India"s fourth largest software services exporter, reported a loss of Rs 359.16 million in the January-March quarter after accounting for extraordinary items.

The year-ago comparable figure was a profit of 744.01 million rupees. The loss was made after adjusting for an exceptional expense of Rs 1.52 billion against Rs 407.53 million a year ago. The company earlier reported a quarterly profit of Rs 1.16 billion ($24.5 million) on a total income of Rs 5.53 billion.

A Reuters poll of 14 brokerages found a median forecast for net profit of Rs 1.17 billion rupees and for revenue of Rs 5.4 billion .
