Yamaguchi, who joined Fujitsu in 1980, replaces Yutaka Suzuki. He has served in different roles at Fujitsu. During the early part of his career as a design engineer, manager and director, he was intimately involved with the development of several leading-edge engineering projects at both Fujitsu Limited and Fujitsu VLSI Limited.

Yamaguchi became the vice general manager of the System Micro Division in 2004. In 2005, he became the head of the Advanced Solutions Division of Fujitsu.

In 2010, he was named president and CEO of Fujitsu VLSI Ltd. The following year, he was appointed corporate vice president of Fujitsu Semiconductor. In addition to his new role leading Fujitsu Semiconductor Wireless Products, Yamaguchi will serve as president and CEO of Fujitsu Semiconductor America.

"I am pleased to assume the leadership role at Fujitsu Semiconductor Wireless Products. Digital RF technology is an important part of the Fujitsu semiconductor product portfolio, and the design team in Tempe is excellent. The future will increasingly be interconnected, where everything from automobiles to household devices will be networked. Our vision is to provide global customers with secure connectivity solutions by combining our advanced digital RF technology with the other industry-leading technologies and capabilities of the Fujitsu Semiconductor group,'' said Satoru Yamaguchi.
