Sasken powers Lenovo mobile

BANGALORE: Sasken Communication Technologies Limited has announced that Lenovo Mobile has chosen its Application Framework for development of feature phones based on the OMAP-Vox platform from Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI).

The framework provides Lenovo with a solution that is completely reusable and

scalable across the entire range of Lenovo’s portfolio of handsets on both the

TI platforms, Sasken said in a statement.

Lenovo mobile has integrated Sasken application framework onto its phone platforms based on TI’s “LoCosto” and OMAP-Vox solutions, the statement added.

The Sasken Application Framework offers an advanced solution for rich media phones with features such as video record and play, audio-video streaming, Bluetooth stereo headsets, touchpad with handwriting recognition, as well as messaging solutions and HTML browser, among other features.

Yang Wanli, general manager of R&D Center, Lenovo Mobile, said, “Working closely with Sasken has enabled us to evaluate this solution at a very detailed level. We are convinced that the Sasken Application Framework will enhance our ability to produce highly differentiated phones and with a faster time to the market.”
