"Analyzing large amounts of data quickly to get at answers that drive time-sensitive business decisions is a competitive differentiator in today's market," said Sudipta K Sen, regional director, South East Asia and CEO & MD, SAS Institute (India). "SAS is redefining 'in-memory processing.' By going beyond in-memory databases or in-memory OLAP and allowing complex analytical computations to run data in a parallel, shared memory environment, SAS delivers faster performance and scalability."

"This powerful analytics combination is a complete 'big data' stack — complementary to the enterprise data warehouse — offering fast-loading, robust data management and complex analytics in a purpose-built environment. Our joint customers will gain from EMC's deep understanding of massively parallel processing architecture combined with SAS' deep expertise in analytics," said Bill Cook, GM and president, Data Computing Division, EMC.

The new service will be available on EMC Greenplum Data Computing Appliance in the fourth quarter 2011.
