Saral - cash register made available by VXL

BANGALORE: VXL Instruments Ltd. has announced the availability of Saral CCR, a cash register for retail outlets. The company is targeting all India sales of around 10,000 units of Saral in 24 months, accounting for a business target of Rs 20

crore.

VXL claims that, Saral is a highly flexible, user-friendly and affordable billing machine. It combines the look and feel of a PC and the versatility of a computer terminal, and is ideal even for small businesses. 



"Saral is set to replace traditional cash registers in retail outlets. It combines the functionality of a PC with the price of a cash register and is simple and secure to operate. It is easily the most cost-effective and easy to use point-of-sale data entry and billing system in the market place today," said VXL vice president N.S. Rajasekharan. "It does not require complicated software installation or configuration at the time of commissioning, and is ready to run out of the box," he added. 

Saral CCR is designed for the Indian environment and power conditions. It does not require a voltage stabilizer or expensive air-conditioning and functions flawlessly in the toughest of retail environments, claims a company press release. "The life of these terminals exceed 10-12 years and are virtually maintenance free as there are no moving parts like hard-disks, floppy drive, CPU fan etc. which can fail due to wear and tear" said Mr

Rajasekharan.

The product is expected to cost around Rs 29,000. The software, Saral-soft allows 3000 items to be stored in memory. According to a press release, built-in inventory system, Saral-soft, enables the stock to be entered at the time of stocking and automatically deducts an item from the register after every sale.
