SAP Labs India expands its eco-friendly Bangalore campus

BANGALORE, INDIA: SAP AG announced the expansion of the SAP Labs India location in Bangalore with the planned construction of an additional sustainable, LEED-certified building.

Located in the SAP Whitefield eco-friendly campus in Bangalore, the new facility is expected to be operational in 2016.

Founded in November 1998, SAP Labs, Bangalore facility is among the prominent global development hubs of SAP that contributes to all areas of the SAP product value chain- Research & Breakthrough Innovation, Product Development, Global Services & Support and Customer Solutions & Operations.

Named as one of the best companies to work for by Great Place to Work Institute, SAP Labs India has contributed significantly to the recent breakthrough innovations from SAP such as SAP HANA.

Gerhard Oswald, Member of the Executive Board and the Global Managing Board of SAP AG said, "India is among the growth markets for SAP both from a talent and business perspective. The expansion plan offers world class work and recreation facilities catering to employee needs.

With a goal to minimize the impact on the environment, SAP Labs India will follow sustainable design and building principles according to the certification of sustainability of the LEED Institute.

Built primarily of sustainable building materials with low environmental degradation, the facility will have water reuse capabilities, smart energy consumption meters, high indoor environment quality standards and environmentally safe waste disposal facilities.
