SAP intros new unified BI, EIM solutions

BANGALORE, INDIA: Information explosion and information change are the two factors and key contributors to the rapid growth of the business analytics and business intelligence (BI) market worldwide, said an SAP executive.

Simon Dale, senior vice-president, Asia Pacific Japan, SAP, shared this view on Wednesday during the launch of 4.0 releases of unified business intelligence (BI) and enterprise information management (EIM) solutions from SAP Business objective portfolio.

He said the new offerings would help in reduction of the IT landscape complexity and speed up the deployment times by integrating BI and EIM environment.

The 4.0 releases of unified BI and EIM solutions from the SAP BusinessObjects portfolio would make the real-time enterprise a reality.

The features of the new offerings include in-memory computing, instant powerful BI in users' hands, with more mobile devices support. It combines structured and unstructured information and provides the tools to govern the information.

The offering would also easily scale to serve all departments as it provides flexible deployment options that leverage the latest 64-bit advances, virtualisation and cloud methods and provides intuitive system monitoring, alerting and auditing, he said.

The latest BI and EIM solutions from SAP are designed to help tackle big data, integrating structured and unstructured data and even information from social networks.

“In today’s scenario, we see a huge market for business intelligence in India and this product from SAP's kit would be an added benefit. The BI and EIM solution from SAP is a consolidated sweet. It is an industry focused and simplified product which caters to all sectors like mobility, enterprises, social networks,” said Maneesh Sharma, head - Business Analytics and Technology, SAP India.

SAP holds almost 32 per cent of the BI market in India and is closely working with partners including HP, IBM, Cisco, Accenture, Atos Origin, Capgemini, Logica, Siemens IT Solution etc.
