SAP India catalyses nation's SME boom

BANGALORE, INDIA: SAP India, a subsidiary of SAP AG, has reported software revenue growth of 43 percent in the first quarter of 2008. According to a recent validated industry data, SAP India has reported highest growth rates in small and medium enterprise (SME) software revenues of a single region for SAP worldwide.

According to Praveen Sengar, senior manager, Software, Services and Industry verticals Research, IDC (India) Ltd., "SAP India has emerged as a leading player in the small and midsize enterprise space with 27 percent market share in revenue terms during CY 2007 in India Enterprise Applications."

This industry endorsement of market leadership comes in the wake of a strong momentum built over the past year. This period saw 1,500 new customer wins, establishing a strong foothold in the Indian small and midsize enterprise market and a customer base that currently stands at 2,300. The established SAP portfolio includes SAP Business One for companies with 10 to 100 employees as well as SAP Business All-in-One for companies with 500 to 2,500 employees.
