SAP elevates V R Ferose as MD

BANGALORE, INDIA: SAP AG, a provider of business software solutions, today announced the appointment of V R Ferose as managing director of SAP Labs in India, effective from April 1, 2010.

In his extended role, Ferose would oversee R&D operations at SAP Labs, across Bangalore and Gurgaon centres, said a press release.

With this change, the governance structure at SAP Labs India would be uniformly aligned with that of the global SAP Labs Network to enable streamlining of strategy and processes.

In addition to being the overall head for SAP Labs in India, Ferose continues to be a key member of the global SAP Labs network, which has been established to share best practices, set benchmarks and generate synergies among SAP Labs worldwide.

Ferose has been part of the SAP family since August 1999 and has held various positions at SAP Labs India. Most recently, he was heading SAP Labs India’s north hub in Gurgaon.

“In his previous roles, Ferose has shown exemplary innovation, drive and leadership. This, along with his ability to produce results and strive for excellence will prove extremely valuable in taking our India operations to greater heights” said Gerhard Oswald, member of the Executive Board and COO, SAP AG.

“Over the past few years, SAP Labs India has grown to become our largest R&D center outside of Germany. The center has contributed significantly towards developing SAP’s core technologies and products,” said Vishal Sikka, member of the Executive Board and CTO, SAP AG and executive sponsor of SAP Labs India. “Ferose’s strong technology focus will definitely be a great asset to help us remain at the forefront of technology innovation.”

Ferose graduated from the National Institute of Technology in 1997 with a B.Tech. degree in computer science and engineering.
