However, the app's description is yet to be updated on the website. The screenshots, though, show that the app now has several tabs that contain names of popular streaming services, namely YouTube, Amazon Prime Video, and Hulu. There is also a separate tab for Live TV content, recently watched and featured content.

Samsung has also updated the interface of the app for browsing photos and music stored on your mobile device. And in case you can't find the physical remote control, you can use virtual remote control interface.

The latest update is likely a move to win against its competitor Vizio, the TV manufacturer who integrated Google’s Chromecast technology into its TV sets earlier this year.

Samsung is yet to officially declare the launch details.

In 2013 also, the company tried to leapfrog the digital growth acquiring smart TV startup Boxee to completely reinvent its smart TV technology. Debuted as “Perfect Experience,” the program offered features that mixed live TV and content from streaming providers in a single interface.

However, Samsung killed the project two years later.
