Samsung SM-G9298 officially launched in China

Samsung has announced the successor to last year's W2017 flip smartphone- SM-G9298, dubbed as Leader 8 in the Chinese markets. The phone, which will be available only in China is made of aviation-grade aluminum and comes with two 4.2-inch 1920x1080 Super AMOLED displays, one on the outside and one on the inside. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 quad core processor coupled with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage which can be expanded up to 256GB via a micro SD card.

In terms of optics, the device consists of a 12-megapixel rear camera with f/1.7 aperture, LED flash and auto focus, and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with f/1.9 aperture and a flash. It houses a 2300mAh battery that is rated to provide standby time of 68 hours. The Samsung G-9298 measures 130.2x62.6x15.9mm and weighs 235 grams. Other features offered by the smartphone include Samsung Pay, S Voice, and Secure folder.

The Samsung SM-G9298 is a dual SIM phone. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth and NFC. Sensors on the phone include compass magnetometer, proximity sensor, accelerometer, ambient light sensor, gyroscope and a rear mounted fingerprint scanner.

Samsung has not revealed the pricing and release date of the phone yet. The phone will only come in one color, black, and is likely to go on sale in the coming months.
