Samsung launches 'Slim'est CDMA phone

NEW DELHI: In its bid to establish its leadership in the CDMA segment, Samsung India, has launched a new CDMA phone in the country. The phone has been bundled through an exclusive tie-up with Reliance Infocomm Ltd.





Billed as 'SLIM', the mobile phone is claimed to be the slimmest in the CDMAcategory by the company. Reliance has priced this set at Rs 2,999 for Reliance subscribers in both pre-paid and post-paid categories.





"We hope to give greater impetus to the CDMA sector by launching this phone," informed president and CEO of Samsung South-West Asia and MD, Samsung India, KS Kim. He also added that the company is expecting to fuel the growth of the CDMA industry in India through innovative product launches. To start with, the company will be supplying close to half a million SLIM mobile handsets within a week's time.





Over the past couple of years, Reliance Infocomm has ventured into different marketing arrangements with multiple mobile handset manufacturers such as LG, Nokia and Samsung. "This model, which has been customized for Indian users, has a phone book memory of 2000 entries, 16 polyphonic ring tones, Hindi SMS and it works on CDMA 800 Mhz frequency," said Reliance Infocomm head (sales), Praveen Pasricha.
