Samsung launches new netbook models

NEW DELHI, INDIA: Samsung today announced its plans to strengthen its Netbook business by launching new models as well as expanding into new markets in the country.

The company today announced the launch of its new line of netbooks, N 148 , N150, and N 210 Netbooks based on the Windows 7 platform in the Indian market.

“ We see a huge potential in the Netbook market in India and plan to fuel the growth in this market by launching our stylish and advanced Netbooks in the market,” said Ranjit Yadav, director-Mobile and IT, Samsung India.

The N210 delivers up to 12 hours of battery back-up, while the N150 keeps on going for up to 8.5 hours.  The new netbooks come with 10.1" LED anti-reflective display fine-tunes movies and images with the sharpest details and boldest colors, with no mirror effect under bright lights or in sunny weather.

The N210 features Samsung’s new crystal pattern design, while the N150 sports an integrated hinge with smooth movement and high quality connection, so everything blends effortlessly together even when the netbook is open.

Both the products incorporate Intel's latest processor, the Intel Atom N450. The Samsung Netbooks are priced in the range between Rs 16290/- to Rs 19,990/-.

Samsung is planning to strengthen its position in the market. While the Company’s existing service centers would support the service needs of customers for Netbooks, Samsung also offers free pick up and drop service within the municipal limits of the city of operation, added the release.

“With a rapid expansion into various Indian cities, we expect to attain a market share of 7-8% in the Indian market by the end of the year,” said Yadav.
