DxO Mark, the platform which judges camera performance and provides a rating for the smartphones, has judged the camera of Galaxy S9 Plus as the best camera beating the likes of iPhone X and Pixel 2. Google Pixel 2 which had the top spot with a rating of 98, was the highest ever rated given to a smartphone by the platform. But now Galaxy S9 Plus, the newest flagship has got the top spot with a rating of 99.

DxO Mark in its report said, "The Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus is a smartphone without any real weaknesses in the camera department. In both still and video modes, it performs well across the board, delivering consistently good photo and video image quality in all light and shooting situations, thus earning itself our highest DxOMark Mobile score to date." On DxO Mark rating, Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus got a photo score of 104 and scored 91 on the video recording capability.

The Samsung Galaxy S9+ sports a zoom lens not found on the S9 (along with a few other features justifying the $120 price difference), which significantly reduces artefacts. The phone also gets high marks for its bokeh effect (for Portrait Mode), which was pretty solid to start with on the last note handset.
