NEW DELHI, INDIA: After several leaks and speculative reports, the Samsung Galaxy S4 mini was finally made official  yesterday. ”The Galaxy S4 mini delivers the superior performance, intuitive ease-of-use and sleek design of the Galaxy S4 in a highly portable, chic and compact design, making it an ideal companion for everyday life,” says a Samsung press release.

”We appreciate such unprecedented demands for the Galaxy S4 that we aimed to provide users with life companion for a fuller, richer and simpler life. And now, we want to give people more choices with Galaxy S4 mini, similar look & feel of Galaxy S4 for more compact and practical usages ,” said JK Shin, CEO and President of IT & Mobile Communication Division at Samsung Electronics.

The specs of the Galaxy S4 mini are as follows:4.3-inch AMOLED display, 1.7GHz dual-core processor, Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean) operating system, 1.5GB RAM, 8GB internal storage (expandable by up to 64GB), 8MP primary camera and 1.9MP HD front camera, 1,900mAh battery, Wi-fi, and so on.

Like the Galaxy S4, the Galaxy S4 mini also will have features like the Group Play, Chat On, S Health, Story Album, etc.

The Galaxy S4 mini will be available in two colors: White Frost and Black Mist. Commercial availability of the Galaxy S4 mini supporting either 4G LTE, or 3G HSPA+ or 3G Dual SIM, will be determined by market, says the press release.

Although there is no word on the pricing of the Samsung Galaxy S4 mini, a report on ZeenewsIndia says that as per market speculations, the Galaxy S4 mini is expected to be priced at $350, which roughly translated to around Rs. 20,000. However, considering the fact that Galaxy S4 costs Rs. 41,500 in India, it seems highly unlikely that S4 mini will cost as low as Rs. 20,000.

That said, what is your opinion on the pricing of Galaxy S4 mini? If it does indeed cost Rs. 20,000 would you gor for the device? Do let us know.
