Despite thriving on the same Android platform, Samsung and its long time software partner Google, have their top selling Samsusng Galaxy 7.7 and Google Nexus 7 - pitted against each other for top position while there is a end-less list of Android tablet offerings from other hardware providers.
While Google Nexus is praised for its affordability the Samsung 7.7 has a premium look and better storage and sharing options.
While Google's Nexus 7 is running out of stock in several key markets, Samsung 7.7 still maintains its position as the largest selling mini tablet around the world. So which one would you prefer to go with ?

Operating system and processor:
Samsung 7.7 runs on Android version 3.2 Honeycomb operating system and Samsung Exynos 4210 1.4GHz dual-core processor.
Google Nexus 7 is manufactured by ASUS and it is the first 7-inch tablet that comes with Quad-core processor (1.3 GHz Tegra 3) which promises a responsive screen. It runs on the latest Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system, which again, is being touted as the first on any tablet.
Display:
Nexus tab comes with a better display moving ahead from other tablets of the same range. It comes with a screen resolution of 1280 x 800 pixel. Further, Nexus tab has scratch resistant Corning Glass.
Samsung Galaxy 7.7 boasts of Super AMOLED Plus which offers best-in-class visual experience.
Storage:
The Samsung Galaxy Tablet 7.7 also has a storage capacity of up to 16GB internal memory and 32GB external memory with a SDHC/SHD SD card
Storage is bit low on Google Nexus 7 with only 8GB/ 16 GB of internal memory available. Also the devices does not come with any external memory option.
Camera:
Samsung 7.7 has a f2 megapixel front-facing camera and 3.2 megapixel rear-facing camera with Auto Focus; Shot Modes, Action, Panorama, video capture and playback options.
Nexus 7: with the feature of a 2.0 megapixel front camera and a 3.2 megapixel rear camera which includes Panorama, picture editing and image uploading.
Connectivity and Features:
Samsung 7.7 features TV-Out with HDMI Dock or Adapter and online image uploading.
Google Nexus 7 has Wi-Fi support,NFC (Android Beam), Bluetooth and a micro USB for charging as well as data connectivity. But no HDMI port.
"The biggest selling point of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 is its gorgeous Super AMOLED Plus touch screen and there's no denying that it is very impressive. The 1280-by-800-pixel WXGA screen looks fantastic and is the point of conversation around this device," Kevin Kelly of Tech Radar.com said. According to CNet.com, the tablet shows a striking screen and a fast performance but the price eventually diminishes their interest on the gadget.
