SEOUL, S.KOREA: Samsung Electronics Co Ltd, the world's largest maker of of liquid crystal display (LCD) screens, said on Monday it would invest 484.6 billion won ($416 million) to expand an LCD production facility.
Samsung said in a filing with the Korea Exchange that the investment, to be made during the first half of 2010, would increase capacity of an existing eighth-generation production line to meet rising demand for LCD panels.
It did not give other details, including the expected size of the capacity increase from the investment.
