S7 Software launches migration and porting tool

BANGALORE: IT solutions provider S7 Software Solutions, today announced the launch of its new porting and migration tool 'Linux-it'. Based on a deterministic approach, Linux-it is a suite of tools to port applications to Linux (such as RedHat and SuSE) from Sun Solaris, HP, SGI, SCO and AIX. It comprises of Parser, Wrapper and Converter programs and provides a better porting decision by estimating the porting and cost complexity even before the porting process begins.

According to a release, Linux-it also automates the possible porting tasks and reduces time and development effort. With Linux-it, clients get both tools and a methodology to move to the Linux environment. It relies upon a set of scripts and tools to achieve efficiency and productivity improvements in the process of migration.
