Rolta acquires Piocon Technologies

MUMBAI, INDIA: Rolta, a provider in engineering and IT services, announced on Monday that they have acquired Piocon Technologies, Inc., a Chicago based provider in oil and gas services.

Through this acquisition, Rolta has acquired a unique template-based solution that would address the critical operational needs of refineries in the oil and gas sector, said a press release.

The solution is said to be field-proven and has been deployed successfully in multiple refining facilities and was recognized by Oracle with Titan award.

The industry experts believe that when fully deployed, the Rolta solution could save as much as $20 million annually for a medium-sized refinery, the release added. The Piocon acquisition is a part of Rolta's systematic growth plans to provide configurable solutions that address the real challenges faced by industry today, it added.

"This acquisition will help Rolta to fulfill a critical and strategic need of the process and power industries at a time when every plant is challenged more than ever before to improve operating efficiencies," said K. K. Singh, chairman and CEO, Rolta Technologies.
