RIM to launch BlackBerry Bluetooth watch, headset

BANGALORE, INDIA: Following the paths of Sony Ericsson, Canadian mobile phone maker Research In Motion (RIM) is planning to come to the market with an interesting device, a BlackBerry Bluetooth watch, which might include a series of functionalities similar to those available on BlackBerry phones.

The Bluetooth watch can syncs up with your mobile handset to deliver alerts and information. The new watch is said to be more advanced than the models Sony Erickson has put forth so far, featuring streaming audio, possibility to show e-mail, BlackBerry Messenger, Facebook, in addition to the usual things like caller ID and text messages.

Another accessory that RIM is planning to launch is a Bluetooth headset that is being called the Alpha 1. It will support audio streaming and come equipped with noise reduction technology (what else) and is fitted into a black chrome shell.

Coupled with a BB device, the Alpha 1 will also provide alerts for messages, IMS, emails etc. and voice navigation instructions when using the GPS, according to reports.
