Reviews42 upgrades Android app with location-based services

NEW DELHI, INDIA: Offering ease to retail shoppers, Reviews42, a consumer product research platform providing comprehensive price comparison, product discovery and user reviews, has updated its Android app by introducing a new service named "Nearby Stores" for its users.

The service will use the GPS/WiFi system of the user's phone to detect the location and then suggest the category specific retail stores within the vicinity of user.

Currently, Reviews42 has geo-mapped nearly 75,000 offline stores across India to its database. It plans to add thousands of new stores every month in the future.

"When people are shopping in a retail store, they are at an information disadvantage vis-à-vis prices, features, and reviews of different brands at other stores. Reviews42 intends to empower these shoppers by making all the desired information easily available on the user's mobile phone," said Neeraj Jain, co-founder, Reviews42.

Surjendu Kuila, co-founder, Reviews42 highlighting the advantages said, "Users will also have the option to call the stores, find driving directions to the shop, check the availability and compare prices of the products. Overall, customers can save money by getting the best price for the product from a close by and convenient location."

The Reviews42 App provides the interested consumer all the information on all consumer products ranging from Mobiles, Tablets, Laptops, Baby Products, Kitchen and Home Appliances. The application can be downloaded on Windows, Android, Black Berry and iPhone.
