Rediff.com posts $2.61 m net loss

BANGALORE: Rediff.com India Limited has recorded a net loss of $ 2.61 million and operating revenues of $3.33 million for the quarter ended December 31, 2002.

Operating loss per ADS at the EBITDA level was 8.7 cents or $2.22 million for the quarter ended December 31, 2002 and operating expenses were $3.15 million.

Total registered users stood at 23.1 million and has launched a series of SMS based value added services.

"The mobile and PC based Internet worlds are now merging and simultaneously growing at a rapid pace. These events allow for more Indians to be connected over their mobile phones than ever before. The launch of SMS based value added services and the Rediff Personal Edition are the first steps towards addressing this young and mobile audience", says Ajit Balakrishnan, Chairman and CEO, Rediff.com India Limited.
