RComm under reported revenue: Raja

MUMBAI, INDIA: Wireless firm Reliance Communications under reported its revenue to the telecoms regulator during 2006/07 and 2007/08, the communications minister, A Raja said on Monday.

A special auditor appointed by the government found the No. 2 wireless firm, part of the Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group, under reported revenues to the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India, Raja told parliament in a written reply to a question.

"The observations are under examination," the minister said.

A Reliance Communication spokesman directed Reuters to a statement issued in mid-October by billionaire Anil Ambani, who controls the company.

There are no irregularities or discrepancies in the company's accounts, and Reliance Communications is fully compliant with all disclosures, Ambani had said at the time.
