RComm joins '50 paise per minute' bandwagon

MUMBAI, INDIA: Reliance Communications, promoted by Anil Dhirubhai Ambani, today announced a new plan called 'Simply Reliance Plan' on its CDMA and GSM networks.

The new plan, to be rolled out nationally for both prepaid and postpaid segments on Tuesday, October 6, 2009, offers a rate of 50 paise per minute, be it local or STD. The roaming charge would also be the same.

Commenting on the new initiative, Anil Dhirubhai Ambani, chairman, Reliance Communications said, Reliance pioneered the mobile revolution making calls cheaper than a postcard in 2005.

“In another game changing move today, Reliance brings a billion Indians closer to each other, with one single rate for all local and STD calls, to any mobile or landline network, anytime, anywhere in India, without any conditions or restrictions,” he said.

Anil Ambani said once again, Reliance has set new standards, offering unbelievable and never-before savings to a billion Indians.

The Simply Reliance Plan offers one single rate of 50 paise per minute across India covering 24,000 towns and 600,000 villages. RComm said all SMSes – local or national – can also be sent for 50 paise.

The telecom player said there will not be any monthly charges for prepaid and the scheme is without any hidden charges or any conditions, whatsoever.

To avail this Simply Reliance Plan, existing or new prepaid customers have to purchase one time special tariff voucher for Rs.48 to enjoy lifetime validity, the release added.

For postpaid users, the monthly subscription fee is Rs.99 to activate Simply Reliance Plan.
