Reliance Communications to sell iPhone 5 with data plans

NEW DELHI, INDIA: Reliance Communications (RCom), India's fully integrated telecommunications service provider, announced that it will offer iPhone 5 in India from today. iPhone 5 will be available at a suggested retail price of Rs 45,500 for the 16 GB model, Rs 52,500 for the 32 GB model and Rs 59,500 for the 64 GB model at Reliance World outlets.

In addition, iPhone 4S will be available at Rs 38,500 for the 16 GB model and iPhone 4 will be available at Rs 26,500 for the 8 GB model. Reliance Communications will allow iPhone 5 customers to connect to its 3G network with data speeds up to 21 Mbps.

RCom president & CEO- Wireless Business Gurdeep Singh said that an 'incredible' product like iPhone is best experienced on the 'seamless' IP- enabled Reliance 3G network, leading to an unmatched customer experience.

"We are happy to offer iPhone customers superior 3G speeds and a reliable data experience at attractive offers. By bringing iPhone to our customers, we are validating our position as a leading data company," Singh added.

The company has come up with various data plans that range from Rs 304 to Rs 1,004.
