Ranga Puranik is new president of Persistent Systems

PUNE, INDIA: & SANTA CLARA, USA: Persistent Systems, the global leader in software product and technology services, today announced the appointment of Mr. Ranga Puranik as President of Persistent Systems, Inc.

Puranik will serve as the head of the company's U.S. entity and lead the company's sales and marketing efforts globally, taking over from Mr. Hari Haran, effective November 22, 2013. Hari Haran will be leaving the company to pursue other interests.

Puranik has been executive vice president of New Initiatives at Persistent Systems for over three years, and has been instrumental in the development and execution of the company's growth strategy. Ranga Puranik brings with him strong global experience in software, telecom, enterprise product development and sales, having worked at GE, Motorola and Sasken in leadership roles over the past 20 years. During the last three years, Puranik has been leading the company's platform solutions business which has been a key entry strategy into the enterprise market.

Puranik holds an MBA from Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, Chicago and a Bachelor of Engineering - Electronics & Communication from Karnatak University.
