Rajesh Janey rejoins EMC as Prez-India, SAARC

BANGALORE, INDIA: EMC today announced the appointment of Rajesh Janey as the president for its India & SAARC operations.

He will report to Steve Leonard, president, EMC Asia Pacific/Japan and takes over from Manoj Chugh, who will now focus fully on driving aggressive expansion of EMC's Global Accounts Program across Asia Pacific & Japan (APJ) as regional president, Global Accounts, APJ, said a press release.

Rajesh will lead EMC in India & SAARC and will be responsible for driving the company’s growth and revenue in the region. He brings more than 27 years of leadership experience in IT sales, services and channels, and joins EMC from NetApp where he was president, India and SAARC Sales.

Prior to NetApp, Rajesh held several roles in EMC India including vice president, Enterprise Business, India and SAARC; head of Channels; and vice president for North, East and Bangladesh business. He has also held a number of management positions in HP, Compaq, Digital, and Wipro, the release added.

Commenting on the appointment, Steve Leonard, president, EMC Asia Pacific/Japan, said, “The Indian sub-continent is a hugely important and strategic market for EMC, both in terms of innovation and growth. Steve added that as they plan for further growth across APJ in the year ahead, it was clear to me that they need an executive with Manoj's deep experience to be fully focused on building and leading their Global Accounts team across the region.

“I am grateful that Manoj has helped bring EMC back to its leadership position in India over the past two years; however, now I need his help in areas outside India. Saying that  Manoj will continue to provide strategic advice, input and support to our India team as the Strategic Business Advisor for India,” he added.
