Quantum launches SuperLoader 3

BANGALORE: Quantum Corp. today announced the immediate availability of its industry-leading SuperLoader 3 autoloader with the capacity and performance of Quantum's DLT-V4 tape drive.

According to Quantum, this offers the features of DLTSage within the DLT-V4 tape drive, matched with the enterprise-level features and operational simplicity of the SuperLoader 3, to deliver small and medium-sized business (SMB) customers a complete automated backup, recovery and archive solution.

Quantum is the first company in the industry to deliver an automated tape solution incorporating the DLT-V4 tape drive, which provides superior customer value including 2.5 terabytes (TB) compressed capacity at an estimated street price under $2,500, the company said in a statement.

The company will ship the SuperLoader 3 with the DLT-V4 tape drive through the company's Asia-Pacific network of channel and value added reseller partners beginning in January 2006.

Estimated street price for an eight-cartridge configuration begins at US $2,499.
