For the same, the company has partnered with O2, one of the mobile service providers in Europe to design and develop its own brand of devices. The uiOne-enabled O2 Ice handset is now available at O2 stores, as well as at major retailers in the UK.

“With O2’s launch of uiOne, the company is putting its demonstrated thought leadership into action and making operator customized UIs a reality,” said Herbert Vanhove, vice president, QUALCOMM Internet Services, Europe. “Wireless subscribers today want a compelling user experience that is customized to meet their unique style and personal preferences. The uiOne-enabled O2 Ice handset has given O2 a first mover advantage that will help them differentiate their services in a highly competitive market.”

“With uiOne, we are taking personalization of device UIs to the next level,” said Ian Clarke, head of devices, O2 UK and president, O2 Asia. “The uiOne-enabled O2 Ice handset offers O2 customers a stylish form factor, as well as an easy-to-use graphically rich UI, that greatly enhances their discovery and enjoyment of the many innovative mobile services.”
