The solution provides the wireless value chain with the means to advance the

wireless experience via rich, integrated and dynamic user interfaces that can be

updated over the air. The uiOne SDK provides the tools needed to create,

simulate and run custom UIs on BREW devices, as well as the ability to test

applications on PCs during the development process.

This is the first time that the uiOne SDK will be made commercially

available, the firm said in a statement.

“As the wireless data market continues to progress, customization features

are becoming more and more important to operators seeking to offer the most

advanced and compelling services, suited to the particular tastes of their

customers,” said Mitch Oliver, vice president of solutions and marketing for

QUALCOMM Internet Services. “The availability of the uiOne SDK for mobile

publishers and developers, as well as the creative community of graphic

designers is the ideal next step in the progression of custom UIs. We expect the

release of uiOne SDK version 1.2 to be a catalyst for the innovation and to

greatly raise the level of demand for custom UIs.”

Included within the uiOne SDK are source samples that show the wide variety

of options that can be achieved when developing for the uiOne solution.

Developers can use the source samples as starting points to develop their own

UIs. The uiOne SDK version 1.2 will be available initially for authenticated

BREW developers to download from the BREW Extranet.

The BREW solution drives the discovery and delivery of data services. BREW

subscribers can benefit from several offerings which include: uiOne for rich,

integrated and dynamic user experiences with fast access to high revenue

services on wireless devices; deliveryOneÔ for differentiated and tightly

integrated, operator-managed support and delivery of advanced wireless data

content and services; and marketOneÔ for a quick-to-market, hosted, scalable

content delivery service that includes media titles, flexible management and

monetization, content provider settlement and business intelligence services.

QUALCOMM offers this comprehensive set of BREW offerings to meet the distinct

needs of companies delivering mobile products and services around the world.
