The organization-wide upgrade includes 150 new Dell computers, laptops, software and networking capabilities for all of the Service Officers and their administrative staff nationwide, as well as the Purple Heart headquarters staff.

"The $175K investment in equipment and software will pay immediate dividends as the National Service Officers will be able to manage the necessary administrative process used to assist veterans filing claims more efficiently and effectively and the Purple Heart to manage the $12M annual grant from the Service Foundation," stated Board President, Jim Blaylock. "Having the proper tools to complete the job successfully is key to our effectiveness in reaching out to and supporting combat wounded veterans and their families," added National Commander, Clayton Jones.

Purple Heart selected Dell Computer because of their commitment to American veterans and salutes Michael Dell for his dedication to those who are combat wounded, added a press report. Full integration for the desktop and laptop systems will be completed by the end of July 2011.
