Key priorities of NASSCOM:

NASSCOM has a five point agenda which clearly charts out our goals for the IT-BPO industry for the next decade. The five fold vision comprises of:

Catalysing growth beyond today’s core markets:For sustainable growth it is crucial for organisations to be risk averse. The key for this is to reinvent business models and go beyond core markets mapping new verticals, customer segments and geographies.

Establishing India as a trusted global hub for professional services:To maintain its leadership position as the most sought after offshoring destination and to successfully able to tap into the new opportunities it is critical that India is perceived as a reliable destination for IT services. To ensure this it is important that India should create a conducive business environment and develop infrastructure.

Harnessing ICT for inclusive growth:To enable inclusive growth, India will need to address demand-supply gaps in at least four key areas: healthcare, financial services, education and public services. Information Communication Technology (ICT) solutions can enable new service models (e.g. telemedicine, mobile banking) that can overcome the limitations of traditional models

Developing a high calibre talent pool:We have a huge talent pool in the country, but the current education system in the country does not ensure employability of the students. Thus there is a huge skill gap. In order to make our workforce industry ready we aim to partner with various educational institutions to make our  talent pool industry ready.

Building a pre-eminent innovation hub in India:India has a potential to emerge as the innovation hub for emerging markets through creation of new products, solutions and services. Even in traditional services, the industry is focused on transforming their own organizations and their client’s businesses. It is important that an appropriate ecosystem is built, so that innovation hubs can be created in India.
