President to give away National Awards to MSME

BANGALORE, INDIA: The Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME) is organizing the National Awards Function for Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises.

The President of India, Pranab Mukherjee will be the chief guest and present the National Awards to successful MSMEs and Banks on this occasion.

K.H. Muniyappa, Minister of State (Independent Charge), Ministry of MSME will preside over the Function.

National Awards were instituted in 1983 to felicitate the outstanding performers in the MSME sector in the areas of Entrepreneurship, R&D, Product Quality and innovation, said a press release and further added, "The awards are also given to outstanding achievers in Khadi, Village Industries & Coir sector as well as to Banks in recognition of their credit support to the Small and Micro Enterprises."

This year's total numbers of National Awardees are 108, including 39 from MSME Sector, 45 from Khadi & Village Industries and 18 from Coir Industries in different categories and 6 Banks, release added.

The Awards are given to MSMEs for outstanding performance in Entrepreneurship, Research and Development, Innovation and Quality Products.
