PUNE: Pramati Technologies is expected to unfold new offerings that will be a step ahead of J2EE lines. These can be rich web content appendages on the application platform and are anticipated to be announced in January. An end-to-end solution would precede this launch.

Ramesh Loganathan, VP, Middleware Technologies who was tight-lipped on these developments admitted that expansion would continue on the company’s product basket and headcount both, “We have tripled our manpower pool in the last 18 months and we would be on the same growth percentage the next year too.”

This Hyderabad-based company follows a fixed cost delivery model and operates in areas like middleware, technical consulting, product development and infrastructure services. The product development pie also entails around one-fourth share in IP (Intellectual Property) on Pramati’s side.

Commenting on the future trends for SOA and Java he said, “Java is here to stay and will only get stronger and better since its core platform is fairly mature. SOA too will eventually see tremendous adoption rates.”

Conceding that the buzz around SOA is serious enough he pointed out licence costs and barriers to entry as concern areas, “The SOA hype is credible but I am only skeptical about the numbers being flaunted. There are several pricing pressures on leading players and many acquired SOA licences are presumably sitting in racks. Adoption and implementation is not happening at the pace expected.”

Loganathan was speaking on the sidelines of the first vendor-neutral independent Java Technology conference organized by Rightrix here where he shared his musings on synergies between J2EE, SOA and Web2.0.
