Pitney Bowes expands product portfolio

BANGALORE, INDIA: Pitney Bowes Business Insight (PBBI), the software arm of US$6 billion Pitney Bowes Inc., today announced major expansion of it’s product portfolio, in line with its vision of gaining market leadership in the fast growing Indian market for enterprise software and related solutions.

A new, advanced version of MapInfo, its flagship product and a global market leader in the location intelligence space will now be available in the Indian market. Two new solutions which will empower its product portfolio in India - Crime Patroller, a solution that provides crime intelligence and Paramics, a traffic management solution will also be made available in India, said a press release.

Manish Chowdhary, managing director, Pitney Bowes Software India, said, “With India leading e-governance innovations on a scale never seen before like UIDAI, the entire PBBI top management globally recognizes that there is a tremendous opportunity in the e-governance and public sector organizations space in India that has not been adequately tapped into.”

He added that the product portfolio expansion is part of the multiple initiatives being planned in line with this thrust to gain market leadership for the company in this key area. In parallel, they are significantly expanding the customer facing, marketing and sales force which is already in excess of 100 and will further increase over the next year.

Chowdhary added, “The award-winning development center in India which is the largest outside of the US for PBBI is also being significantly involved, to customize solutions for the Indian market, honing our advantage even more. All of this combined with continuous investment and greater focus is what we are betting on as we try to accelerate our revenues out of the Indian market.”
