Persistent wins outsourcing award from SISO

MUMBAI, INDIA: Persistent Systems, a software product development services company, today announced that it has received Samsung’s ‘Most Preferred Outsourcing Business Partner’ award for 2009 from Samsung Electronics India Software Operations (SISO).

The award recognizes the business value Persistent has contributed to Samsung through their specialized Mobility expertise, delivered in very short time frames, said a press release.

The award was presented to Dr. R. Venkateswaran, head, Telecom Business Unit, Persistent Systems by Banghun Chun, MD, SISO at a function held in Bangalore.

SISO is one of the eleven Research & Development centers of Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., housed in the IT hub of India, Bangalore. SISO works with some organizations in software and technology in India, leveraging their core competencies. Charged with spearheading Samsung´s initiatives in India, SISO contributes to an array of technologies in the wireless, networking, convergence, digital and semiconductor areas in India where these domains have seen rapid and dramatic growth, the release said.

Persistent, through its mobile devices capabilities has facilitated SISO to build advanced solutions for their next generation of products. With its mobile application development experience, Persistent aims to deliver applications faster, in a cost effective manner, and with reduced risk. Currently, a team of 350 engineers works exclusively on a variety of mobile platforms to develop over 50 product releases per year for carrier-grade and enterprise-class applications, the release further said.
