Expanding its India footprint and employee base, the company also dedicated a new office tower at its Noida campus.

Built with an investment of $8 million - $9 million, the new tower at Perot Systems' Noida campus, currently housing infrastructure and applications teams, will seat up to 800 in the coming months and includes an enterprise command center.

This latest expansion brings the current total number of associates in Perot Systems India based business units namely, application solutions, IT infrastructure and business process services (BPS), to more than 6,000. The company plans to double its headcount from the current 400 in the infrastructure services (IS) space in India during 2006 and projects its BPO headcount to grow by 25 percent — 30 percent in 2006. Perot Systems currently employs around 1,400 people in the BPS space at its Chennai facility.

"The new tower is a significant accomplishment for Perot Systems because we now are 'three deep' in both India and the US-with applications, infrastructure and BPO capabilities in two world staging locations," said MD of the company's global applications solutions division and senior executive for Perot Systems in India and Asia-Pacific Padma Ravichander.

She added, “The India infrastructure team has already begun providing a wide range of infrastructure capabilities — including mainframe, Intel, messaging and UNIX engineering services — and services Fortune 1000 customers around the world in a “Follow-the-sun” model that makes the most of resources in every region. In all, the center provides 22 different services in the IS space.”
