Paxonet is part of Paxonet Communications Inc., a Delaware Corporation

company headquartered in Fremont, California, USA.

The chip is the industry's highest density virtual tributary SONET/SDH

crossconnect, ideal for Metro Optical Access, Multi Service Switches and Digital

Access Crossconnect Systems (DACS).

Viti-48 is a single chip implementation of a single stage, non-blocking

switch for virtual tributaries across a full OC-48 data stream that raises the

bar on high integration and flexibility. Viti-48 is entirely conceived, designed

and developed at Paxonet's centers in Pune and Bangalore.

Viti-48 is a critical component for the new generation multi-service switches

that support grooming and aggregation of data/voice traffic at data rates of 2.5

bps. The chip can be cascaded to support 10 Gbps data rates.

Viti-48 will address the rapidly growing market for metro-service switching

platforms, that is expected to soar from the present $3 billion to around $23

billion in 2003.
