Patni inaugurates new facility in Gandhinagar

MUMBAI, INDIA: Patni Computer Systems Limited, a provider in IT and BPO services, today announced plans to significantly augment its Gujarat delivery operations with the opening of their second delivery center in Gandhinagar.

The move is triggered by a recent deal signed by the company to provide Product Engineering Services (PES) and Application Development Management (ADM) services to a leading UK based enterprise, said a press release.

Speaking on the launch, Jeya Kumar, chief executive officer, Patni said, “The inauguration of our new facility in Gandhinagar demonstrates our sustained commitment to this region. We are looking at strengthening our presence in this burgeoning IT delivery hub and expect Gandhinagar to play a crucial part in this delivery expansion strategy.”

The headcount of the existing center stands at 400 and the new center plans to hire an additional 350, taking the total to over 750 employees in the next one year, the release added.

Dr. Anil Gupta, EVP and global head of Business Support, Patni said, “Over the last few years, Gujarat has emerged as an extremely investor-friendly destination with world class infrastructure, SEZ benefits and a rich talent pool. Additionally our facility is based on principles of green architecture thus cementing our commitment to green initiatives. We are happy to have chosen Gandhinagar to house two of our significant delivery units.”
