Imprivata Cortext states that it is the secure communications platform for healthcare that enables organizations to replace pagers and improve care coordination inside and outside the hospital.

Memorial Healthcare will leverage the Imprivata Cortext desktop platform as the standard desktop communication solution for the entire organization, and the mobile application for leadership, physicians and other mobile users to eliminate pagers and enable faster, more secure communication across its entire hospital ecosystem.

“Imprivata Cortext meets the increasing demand from our clinical and hospital leadership to move away from pagers. For mobile users, Imprivata Cortext enables fast, secure communication from any mobile device,” said Frank Fear, vice president of information services at Memorial Healthcare. “For some of our nurses, support staff and other users who do not carry mobile devices, Imprivata Cortext extends these benefits with a native desktop application that is automatically accessed when users tap their badge to access their workstation.”

Imprivata Cortext added that it supports native platforms for iPhones, iPads, Android-based devices, Blackberry devices and Windows Desktops to improve communications and care coordination across multiple healthcare organizations while addressing the inefficiencies of pagers and other outdated technologies.

It also claims that it offers application programming interface (API)-level integration with leading third-party alerting, scheduling and EMR applications to allow providers to receive critical alerts, scheduling notifications, lab results and other information directly to their preferred device, which further streamlines clinical workflows and improves care coordination.

“We are a long-time Imprivata OneSign customer, so implementing Imprivata Cortext aligns us with an existing strategic partner that we know is committed to working closely with us to deliver solutions that meet our pressing challenges,” said Fear. “This gives us confidence that we will meet our goal of eliminating all pagers over the next year and standardizing on Imprivata Cortext as the hospital’s primary communication solution. Going forward, we plan to integrate Imprivata Cortext with our MEDITECH EMR and other applications such as nurse-call and on-call scheduling.”
