Oracle to open its first Startup Cloud Accelerator in Bangalore

Oracle today at Oracle CloudWorld announced that it will launch its first incubation centre in Bangalore on April 8.

MUMBAI, INDIA: Oracle will launch its first incubation centre in Bangalore tomorrow.

The company will launch more Startup Cloud Accelerators later in Chennai, Gurgaon, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Noida, Pune, Trivandrum and Vijayawada also.

“We chose Bengaluru for our first centre, given that Bengaluru is the second best funded startup hub in the world, outside of USA,” said Oracle’s President of Product Development Thomas Kurian. “Through the Oracle Startup Cloud Accelerator and the growing popularity of cloud as an alternate computing model, we want to be the catalyst for new business ideas.”

Oracle Startup Cloud Accelerator is a first-of-its-kind global startup accelerator initiative by Oracle, which will be led by Group Vice President of Development, Sanket Atal. Oracle India will lead the initiative for the company.

With Oracle Startup Cloud Accelerator, Oracle aims to help speed up a startup’s development through a combination of technical and business mentoring. The initiative targets midsize firms, including MSMEs and startups. Selected startups will enjoy the benefits of a six month acceleration facilitated by technical and business experts from the industry and Oracle, which will include:

  • Structured mentoring
  • State-of-the-art technology
  • Co-working space
  • Access to Oracle customers and partners
  • Access to investors
  • Free credits on Oracle Cloud
