Oracle India appoints Krishan Dhawan as MD

BANGALORE: Oracle India Private Limited (Oracle India), a wholly owned subsidiary of Oracle Corporation, has announced that Krishan Dhawan has taken over as the new Managing Director of Oracle India, effective immediately.



"Krishan brings with him more than 25 rich years of experience in the financial services and IT enabled services sector, having worked with Bank of America for 23 years across Asia Pacific and American markets," said Keith Budge, senior vice president, Oracle Asia Pacific. "Krishan's deep understanding of global businesses will be of immense value to our more than 6250 existing customers and our future customers in India," Budge added.



"The power of information that Oracle brings to corporations and Governments has firmly established the company as a key partner to India's rapid growth and development," said Dhawan. "I am excited to be part of such a dynamic and progressive organization, and I look forward to furthering Oracle's upward growth trajectory through strong partnerships with our customers and the Government."



Dhawan succeeds Shekhar Dasgupta who will be leaving Oracle India at the end of May 2005 to pursue a career in academia after having worked with the company for more than 12 years. During this period Dasgupta will be remain with Oracle India as an advisor to the company.



"Shekhar has helped make Oracle the preferred business partner of corporations and Governments in India. I would like to thank Shekhar for his enormous contribution to Oracle and I wish him the very best in his new career," said Budge.
