Oracle-HP e-gov initiative ready for launch

NEW DELHI: Oracle India Pvt Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Oracle Corporation, an enterprise software company, has announced that the formal launch of the Oracle-Hewlett Packard e-Governance Center of Excellence (CoE) will take place on July 10, 2003 at an event in Delhi.



In the tenth year of its presence in India, Oracle India is setting up the e-Governance CoE, the first ever in the Asia Pacific region and the second in the world.



On this occasion, Oracle Corporation chairman and CEO Larry Ellison will share his thoughts, in an interactive session, via satellite, with Oracle´s Indian partners, customers, associates and members of the media.



This will be the first time that Oracle´s chairman and CEO will address an Indian audience. Ellison will deliver the keynote at the Oracle Executive Summit – Practices for Progress being held in New Delhi on July 10, 2003.



Besides the keynote, other highlights of the summit include a live and interactive Q & A session with Ellison and the inauguration of the e-Governance CoE. Noted economist and editor TN Ninan will moderate a panel discussion on the subject of Governance, featuring Ballarpur Industries Ltd MD Gautam Thapar and Oracle Corporation South Asia region Regional MD Keith Budge among others.
