Oracle considering to buy EMC?

NEW YORK, USA: If rumours are to be believed, Oracle Corporation chief executive Larry Ellison is considering to buy data storage company EMC Corporation.

EMC's shares surged 4.48 percent to $21.21 on about 97.42 million shares last week on speculation that the data storage systems maker could be a a takeover target of Oracle Corp.

The stock went up more than 20 percent year-to-date and has a 52-week range of $16.12-$21.83.

Whereas, Oracle Corporation went down 0.94 percent to $28.33 on speculation that the company may be considering acquiring EMC Corp., the data storage systems company. The stock went up more than 11 percent in the last one month of trading sessions.
