At this annual display of telecom innovation, Opera will host an exhibit that will give visitors a firsthand look at how Opera Mini connects India to the mobile Web.

Opera Mini brings full Web browsing to nearly any mobile phone; and its reach in India is widespread. Available in 12 languages native to India, Opera Mini is a valuable tool for communication and information for even the remotest residents of India.

“We want visitors to India Telecom to be immersed in the Opera experience, the experience that is taking India by storm,” says Jon von Tetzchner, CEO, Opera Software.

He added: “In Opera’s latest State of the Mobile Web report, we uncovered that India consistently ranks third among the top worldwide users of Opera Mini, and Indians are using our mobile Web browser to perform tasks ranging from Web searches to checking train schedules. Opera Mini is truly becoming a part of their everyday lives.”

This year, India Telecom’s theme is “Connecting rural India”. Opera is an active proponent of ensuring that Indians, no matter their location or proximity to wired Internet connectivity, have access to the full Web.
