Only color-printing business sold to Xerox: Tektronix

BANGALORE: Tektronix Inc. has clarified that Xerox Corporation has acquired its color printing and imaging business, globally for US $925 million. A section of the media had reported the acquisition of entire Indian subsidiary of Tektronix. As part of the deal, Xerox Modicorp has acquired the assets relating only to the color printing and imaging business from one of Tektronix Inc.'s subsidiaries in India - Tektronix (India) Ltd.

In a release, Tektronix (India) Ltd. said that, "Tektronix India wishes to reassure our customers, that we remain an independent corporate entity, dedicated to providing leading edge, measurement solutions to our customers." The release also quoted Xerox Modicorp Ltd. saying, "The acquisition of the color printing and imaging business has strengthened our printer offerings and ensures that customers get one-stop printing solutions from our company. We are now strongly positioned to become the market leader in office color printing in India. We are not acquiring any other business from Tektronix Inc."
