OnePlus 5T with Face Unlock feature launched

OnePlus has unveiled their latest flagship smartphone- OnePlus 5T. The smartphone is a successor to OnePlus 5 and comes in two storage variants. The device is priced Rs 32,999($499) for the 6GB+64GB model and Rs 37,999($559) for the 6GB+128GB model. It will be available on the OnePlus online official store and on Amazon from 21 November 2017.

Coming to the specifications, the phone features a 6.01-inch FHD+ Optic AMOLED display with an 18:9 aspect ratio and a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. The OnePlus 5T is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC and runs on OxygenOS 4.7.1 layered atop Android 7.1.1 Nougat. OnePlus has promised an Oreo update for the smartphone in early next year and the Oreo beta update for the smartphone will be available from December this year.

The OnePlus 5T sports a dual rear camera setup with 16 megapixel+20 megapixel sensors and both come with same f/1.7 aperture lens and 27.22mm focal length. It features a 16-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture. The phone is backed by a 3,300 mAh battery and supports Dash Charging facility. The phone retains the 3.5mm headphone jack.

One interesting feature of the OnePlus 5T is the Face Unlock feature which allows users to unlock the device in just 0.4 seconds just by looking at it. Face Unlock uses over 100 identifiers to unlock the OnePlus 5T. New Oxygen OS features include Parallel Apps and OnePlus Switch.

Additional features include Type-C USB port, GPS, NFC, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual-band, Wi-Fi Direct, DLNA, Bluetooth v5 with A2DP, LE, aptX, and EDR support and Dual nano-SIM slots for connectivity.
