One crore Aadhar numbers generated

MUMBAI, INDIA: Vakrangee Software Limited (VSL), the leading system integrator in the e-Governance domain today said it has generated over 1 crore AADHAR numbers across India.

According to VSL, it crossed the one crore benchmark of generation of Aadhar numbers across the country on March 23, under the Unique Identity (UID) enrollment project.

The BSE listed firm belongs to T2F4 category of UID enrollment project, which is of the highest level and authorizes the firm for enrollment anywhere in the country.

VSL bagged UID enrollment project from Union Bank of India (UIB), one of the registrars in May 2011. Under which, it operates for UIB's nine zones that include Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bhopal, Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai and Pune; and covers 18 regions as per UBI’s purchase order.

Based on the bidding, VSL has targeted to achieve approximately Rs.1,500 crore revenue from UID enrollment projects.

It was back in December 2010, for the first time VSL started to work on “proof of concept” in Kon village of Thane district in Maharashtra for the UID project.

Based on the successful enrollment of 34,000 village residents across 6,999 houses with 213 staff, VSL was looking to tap 30-40 percent residents of India for the UID project.
